With a background in roasting and journalism, Luiza is in charge of Algrano's educational content. Originally from Brazil, she worked as a journalist in Sāo Paulo until 2016 when she embraced coffee as a career. She started as a barista, moved to the UK and soon got involved in roasting. Having visited producers in Africa and Latin America, Luiza is passionate about sharing their stories and bringing coffee farmers into the spotlight.

Algrano is an innovative trading solution for green coffee. It was kickstarted by two international startup programmes in Chile and Brazil in 2013 and 2014 and won the SCAE innovation award in Gothenburg Sweden in 2015. Producers and cooperatives can offer and connect directly to roasters in an online network of over 1000 users across more than 75 countries. This means they have more price autonomy and market access compared to conventional trading.
